 F/T FIRE OFFICIAL – CITY OF LONG BRANCH (MONMOUTH COUNTY)

Under direction administers and directs the enforcement of provisions of relevant fire safety codes and related regulations, establishes day-day operating routines of the code enforcement agency, and coordinates and supervises activities of any fire safety specialists or other staff employed by the agency; does related work as required. Duties include inspecting or directing the inspection of various structures and premises for the purpose of ascertaining and causing to be corrected any conditions liable to cause fire, contribute to the spread of fire, interfere with fire operations, endanger life or for any violations of the provisions or intent of the NJ Uniform Fire Code or any other laws, rules, or regulations affecting fire safety. Positon will oversee Code Enforcement and Housing Inspections Divisions.  All certifications need to be up to date upon applying.  Additional certifications such as NJ DCA Fire Subcode Official license and Fire Protection Inspector HHS license a plus. Under direction, supervises and works with staff performing ground and/or turf maintenance tasks. Duties include ensuring staff keeps lawns, gardens, parks and other outside areas healthy and visually appealing. Positions requires the operation of lawn mowers, weed trimmers, edgers, leaf blowers, snow blowers, hedge trimmers and other equipment associated with ground maintenance and landscaping activities. Three years of experience in maintenance of grounds with one year of experience asa lead worker. Must possess a valid CDL, Class A preferred. Pesticide Applicator Certification preferred. Under direction, examines the working plans of proposed buildings for compliance with state, county, and local zoning laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations and conducts field works to ensure compliance with zoning regulations. Duties include reading and correcting final plans and consulting with architects, owners and contractors on compliance problems. This position conducts field inspections to ensure compliance with zoning regulations and applicable rules. Requires three years of experience and a valid driver’s license.
